Salmon and Sons bodied Standard
is being restored

The Salmon and
Sons bodied Standard
Steve Collins writes:
Attached are the
latest pictures of the Salmons bodied Standard 10, as you can see
she is looking a bit different now from when I first got her. Her
registration number is DPH 648 so we have christened her
“Daphne”.
On one picture you can see Rob,
who sprayed the car for me at his workshop in Royston. Having removed all the
old paint, he told me that when he got to the last layer this was the colour
that he found and matched it with. Standard called this “Lavender Grey” from
the sales brochure I have. Next she is going to the finishers to have a grey
mohair hood fitted as the brochure states. So hopefully she will be on the road
in spring 2009.

Thanks Steve,
What a good looking car, and a
fantastic paint job. I also know that Brian Parkes is very supportive in
supplying parts for your project. I hope the rest of the restoration goes as
well. I look forward to seeing you and the car at the
Golden Anniversary International Rally next summer.
