Feature on a rare 1932/3 Avon Standard 16 Sports Tourer

I am always delighted when news of a particularly rare Standard reaches the webmasters desktop. And they seem to arrive from all over the world.

I have already featured two Indian 16Hp six cylinder Beauvais bodied Avon Standards on the website. Now comes news of a third! All appear to be 1932/33 vintage.

Nitin Dossa has emailed me from Mumbai with photographs and details of his car. Nitin is not sure if the car is 1933 or 1935 (its 1933, Nitin) as he has neither Commission number nor Engine number. Both of these were erased when the car was to be illegally exported out of India. Nitin has owned the car for more than 10 years and has recently fully restored it.

Nitin is keen to find out just how many cars identical to his own survive, and he would like to converse with the owners. I have already mentioned that we are aware of the 2 other Indian Cars but perhaps other owners would like to fill out our feedback form to tell us about their cars
