This is the largest
Classic Car show held in the UK each year and this year the
displays extended to a full six halls at the NEC. The stands were
busy for all of the two days and the Club's stand, in a particularly
central position, was swarming with enthusiasts and club members
solidly for the whole two days. Never has there been so much
interest in Standards!
For this special event
at the end of our centenary year, our organiser had attracted
cars from each decade of production

The club
won no less than three awards at the show:
-
The
first went to Bob Richardson, our Editor, for "Most
Improved Club Magazine".
-
The
next, and a real pleasure, was an honorary mention (i.e. runner
up ) for the Club of the Year! This was for all our efforts in
making ST100 such a success.
-
Finally,
the Club won the "Society of Motoring Historians" prize,
again for ST100!
On the Sunday,
Tony Beadle presented us with the award from the Society of
Automotive Historians for our celebration of the Standard Centenary

Not only had or
organiser, Brian Birch, gathered this most unique collection of cars
, he had decorated the stand imaginatively with memorabilia , carpet
and floral displays. Brian had also
spent a considerable time building large replicas of all of the
badges that the company had used over 60 years of production, some
of them can be seen in the photos. You can click on any of them to
