| Freezing
day Out at the Chipping Campden Show!

Three Flying
Standards managed to park together, Dennis Brown's Flying 12, John
Maxwell's Flying 9 and the Webmaster's Flying 12 DHC
Its midsummer, and the sun
is supposed to shine. Not on this Sunday - it was positively Artic! The
equivalent event last year, which was held at Churchill, was a gloriously
hot day, but this year winter thermals were required. Some 400 interesting
cars of all marques turned up to Chipping Campden School, where we all
parked on the school's playing field, undoubtedly the highest (and
coldest) spot in this achingly pretty village. Obviously it kept the
attendance from the public down and no way was the beer tent going to get
drunk dry this year!
Apart from the spectacular
collection of cars, other highlights were mostly
musical: The Chipping Campden School's Brass band kept the freezing crowd
outside entertained and an excellent three piece band played for those who
were sensible enough to gather in the school hall for very necessary
coffee and teas. Back outside, there was also a running commentary from
John McCartney, whose roving microphone managed to interview many of the
owners of the interesting cars present. Unfortunately, more or less everyone decided to
go home early just to get warm again!

present are captured in these thumbnails, please click on them to see
