It has been proven yet again that the Standard Motor Club, which is a relatively small club, can compete with much larger rivals to win prizes at National Shows. In this latest case the club's third prize was for the best Club Stand at this show at the National Agricultural Centre at Stoneleigh. This was achieved because your club put on an exhibit of such a wide variety of models that other one make clubs could only gasp in amazement.

Which other clubs could put together a fabric-bodied Saloon with a 10 Van and a 6 cwt Pickup to make such a varied display? None of them, I would wager.

The success of the stand is also in its decoration, and here we are indebted to Brian Birch, who not only builds the scenery but also  transports everything to the show in his Atlas Crew Bus. Thanks must also go to the many helpers, the members who help man the stand all over the weekend. It couldn't happen without you all.

So, join in the events of this successful club and help us win even more prizes!
