Rain washes
out a promising Luton Festival of Transport

A lineup of Vanguards under threatening
Luton skies
Lynda and I returned to the Luton Festival of Transport at Stockwood Park in Luton this year, our first visit for
a number of years. We hope that it would brighten up soon. It didn't!
Mind
you, we were not the only people looking for a sunny day out. Arriving in the
Flying 12 DHC. we soon bumped
into a line of Vanguards representing the John Huckle collection, Roy Gillman in
another Vanguard, John and Rachael Maxwell in their Triumoh and a couple from
Luton in their Standard 10. However we were all disappointed because it
started to rain almost as soon as we got there and continued to do so all day.
So
the activities were certainly curtailed, but that didn't prevent me from
grabbing a few photos of the fine Standards that were there: You can click on
any of the photos to see an enlargement.

By 2.00pm, enough was enough so we abandoned the event for the
dryer environment of the pub!
