The Standard Motor Club is THE club for all Standard Owners and fans
Auctions & Sales
The Standard Motor Club lists these Auctions and Sales as a service to it’s members and site visitors and does not accept any liability as to the accuracy of the descriptions or condition of the vehicles or parts. Prospective buyers must check that the vehicles or parts are as described and fit for purpose.
The Club offers free advice to members as to their prospective purchase of any Standard cars and their derivatives and depending on location can sometimes arrange for a local member to view the car before purchase, subject to payment of his expenses.
There has recently been an increase in the number of instances spotted by Club members where cars have been misdescribed either as to year or specification or indeed modified from original specification which a quick call to an expert within the Club will often resolve, though as the factory itself constantly changed specifications this will not always be possible.
The Club cannot accept any liability for any vehicles found on purchase to have mechanical or bodywork defects as its committee members are not in most cases qualified motor engineers and an inspection by a qualified engineer is also advisable. However the Club's experts can often point to potential trouble spots in various models warranting closer inspection.
Vehicles being sold through the Club magazine usually belong to members and can often though not always represent a better prospect than a vehicle being sold outside the Club.
In short, join the Club and seek advice from members before buying a Standard
