CLUB STAND AT BEAULIEU INTERNATIONAL AUTO JUMBLE

SEPTEMBER 7th & 8th 2013

This year saw the first appearance of a Club stand at the September event. Despite the threat of rain on the Friday Alan Tibet & Dave Salter (both members of The New Forest Group) travelled down with the repaired Gazebo having been wrecked at The National in August by a gale force wind. We are indebted to Alan especially for all his effort in repairing the Gazebo in time for the event.

Darrell arrived in his 1939 Flying Eight Tourer to find Alan & Dave on site having already set up the Stand ready for his car to be reversed into the gazebo as part of the weekend display and to promote the London to Brighton Classic Car Run in 2014 run by Gemini Events.

After setting out the spares for sale and membership table the coffee & tea table was put up. This would prove a very useful extra all weekend. We were joined by Phil & Lynda Homer to help man the stand and friends of Darrell Margaret and Michael Park with some of Margaret’s delicious cakes for us all.

Some of you who attended the Gala Dinner in the Cathedral in August will remember her cakes. During the weekend Margaret joined the Club as a member. In all 3 new members were signed up and one member renewed.

Application forms were taken by visitors for both membership and the London to Brighton event.

Despite a few downpours as can be seen in the video it was a huge success.

Members visiting the stand included a few from UK and  from

Austria, Australia, Switzerland, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Malta, Sweden, Northern Ireland, Eire and Jersey, showing what an International Club we are.

It was nice to put faces to members who were up till then names at the end of emails.

Again Alan was there at the end to break camp and take the gazebo home for MORE repairs.

This will be an annual event for the Club.
