Another top
prize for a Club Car

May 27th marked the annual event for all
Standards and Triumphs at the Heritage Motoring Centre at Gaydon in Warwickshire.
This was the first outing for a 1957 Standard
10, newly restored, from Hull in North Humberside. The Car was chosen as the Club's
representative in the "All Triumph Final" for Car of the Show. Despite being
massively outnumbered by the attending Triumphs, the car was awarded 2nd prize, as runner
up in the overall competition.
The photograph shows the Standard Ten and its
owner, Trevor Jones, with the winning car, a TR4A and its owner. Proof, if it were needed,
that Standards, so long the underdogs in Triumph circles, are now competing amongst the
most prestigious cars in the Standard-Triumph Marque. It will be interesting to see how
this car will fare at the Standard National Rally this year.
