I have told myself
that one day soon, I will run a competition on this website to
identify readers favourite Standard Car. As this is a website, this
would have to be based on looks rather than the driving experience.
When I do that, then this car will probably be near the top of the
voting list.
The good thing is that
this one is also for sale, (Oct 30th, 2003) at a Dealers in the
Midlands, so you could be driving the dream. Its Avon bodied on the
1935 Standard 12 chassis and, unusually, has a fair amount of room
in the back, making it a usable 4-seater. Its tastefully finished in
2 tone blue with a double pinstripe on the wing edge. Clearly a
large amount of time and money has been spent to get it to this
first class condition. The car was previously unknown to the club.
