Avon Little 12 Restoration
OK, Standard Owners and enthusiasts - start drooling now.......... This is Piet Geirnaert's 1932/3 Standard Avon Little 12 six-cylinderCoupé, recently restored in Holland. The Beauvais body on this Avon is to my mind one of the most attractive of any Prewar car of any marque, not just Standard. Just look at the sublime lines of those front and rear wings. Piet believes this to be one of just 3 survivors. What is even more remarkable is this restoration, starting from the wreck you see below took Piet 30 years to complete. I am not going to go into the restoration story here - if you want to read the 6 parts of the illustrated article, you will need to read the club's magazine, the "Standard Car Review" where it is being serialised. In my view that is reason enough on it's own to become a member of the Club! To find out how to do so, just click on the animated graphic near the top of the page. The SCR will then be delivered to you every month. Here is Piet's starting point and another picture of the restoration in progress.
