Unique
Tickford arrives at the International Rally, 2004

A particularly rare
and interesting attendee at the International Rally this year was
this 4-door convertible Tickford-bodied Standard 10 from 1934

The handle to operate
the folding roof can be seen above the rear wheel arch

These
pictures prove that Standards in any condition are
welcomed at our rallies

The rear seat has been
partly replaced by a similar seat in blue

Instruments are being
restored

This Tickford is a local car to
Scarborough and is in the process of restoration. The owner believes
that it is the only 4 door in existence (until you prove him wrong)
He is the ninth owner since the car was last on the road in 1967.
Each owner has stared a restoration and then given up, and in
the process some items have gone missing. The current owner is
however making more progress, having rebuilt the engine and restored
the front wings and the engine compartment
I do hope that the recent good
progress can be continued, so that we will have the privilege of
seeing this delightful car on the road again some time soon.
I am aware that there are other cars
and information that could be added to this site to make it more comprehensive, so if you
have material and photographs, please let me know. Please send me, Phil Homer, a
message at: Phil Homer
