Club
Member John Soames hails from Witney in Oxfordshire where he
has not one but two Standard 10 pickups. He brought this one,
a late Pennant winged version to the glorious Churchill Show
in June, where I took the opportunity to capture these shots
of it.
 |
The
interior is rather a sumptuous place to be, being very similar
to the saloon. John even has a period radio to keep him
company

|
The pickup is
signwritten with the name of previous owners, a garage in
Yorkshire
The Pickup
appears to have been made in small batches after Standard 10
and Pennant production had given way to the Herald. John
believes that accounts for many of the differences between his
vans, including the use of ordinary 10 wings or
"Pennant-type" ones
