Standard Vanguard in regular use near Santiago, Chile

The early
Vanguard with its current owner
This is the last
feature in "Vanguard Month". If you would like to see
more Vanguards, or any Standard model, featured on this site, just email
me with details and photos.
News has reached me
of this two-owner Standard Vanguard in regular use near Santiago
in Chile.
Member Ronald Biehl,
himself an owner of a Phase 1 Vanguard, emails to tell us that he
has found this Vanguard from 1949 with its second owner, an 82
year old, who unfortunately he doesn't name.
The car is in
amazing original factory condition and in working order, including
the original leather trim.
Ronald has found
every variety of Phase 1 in Chile, that is the Saloon estate car,
pickup and even the very rare Imperia built Convertible from
Imperia in Belgium. I hope that Ronald will be able to forward
photographs of all these models so that I can show them here.
The original file
sizes are quite small, but as usual, you can click on these
thumbprints to see enlargements:
