Very
rare Australian built Vanguard 3 10cwt Panel Van.

The Vanguard 3
Van is unique in this country
Dave Barry is the
owner and importer of this the only factory produced Phase 3
Vanguard Van in the country. This Australian built conversion is
the first that I have seen. Though Dave originally intended to sell
the Van he now intends to restore and use it. Dave knows of one
other Van, which was originally in Sydney and now believed to be
in the Melbourne area

Writing on the
Club's Internet Forum, Dave gave a list of the items required to
help with his restoration, though some of these items have already
been supplied by other correspondents to the forum. Please see the
forum for the latest position. Any help that you can give to
getting this rare van on the road will be greatly appreciated.
That list was as
follows:
Set of 5 tyres,6.70 X 15, new, or excellent used
on rims and inflated,so I can check for splits and other damage.
Mild steel exhaust system to suit estate car. Would consider
stainless steel, but not sure if it will fit as the van has a full
chassis which might get in the way!
New or fully rebuilt brake master cylinder; new or fully rebuilt
wheel cylinders, complete set.
Red rear lens X 1, or would take a whole lamp. Will confirm the
Lucas number later.
Someone who can repair a tatty front bench seat, in red, needs a
few torn panels replaced.
Front floor rubber mat, carpet if I have to, but prefer a mat.
Lets hope that you
are able to assist Dave with his requirements, if you are, please
respond on the forum, or to me in the first instace.
Dave hopes to
have the car on the road by Easter, so lets hope that he is an
entrant in the Commercial Class at the next International Rally at Wyboston
Lakes. in 2010. Please come along in your Vanguard or any
other Standard to see this unique vehicle
