A bevy of Australian Beauties

Lang Kidby has sent me this very interesting collection of archive photos of early Standard Cars from Australia. Some of them are very early indeed. I am grateful for the assistance of Len Barr in helping identify what they all are. You can click on any of the thumbprints to see enlargements.

Probably a 1910 Model G - Note the front door is a lot higher than that in the next pictures and also the line of the  rear door and rear seat is different

The photos above are clearly the same car - but I think it could have a Union Jack Radiator badge - not sure from the angles.   If so then it has to be at least 1908 and could either be a 20 H.P. model D (6 cylinder) or a 19.6 H.P. model E (4 cylinder) You can click on either photo to see an enlargement

This could be a model J from 1901-11, rated at 11.6 H.P. or a slightly later model K which was rated at 15.6 H.P.  Either was a 4 cylinder car.

This car has taken an unfortunate ducking in the creek. It could be a Model M of about 1912.

This is a 1914 Model S with "Rhyl" bodywork, Standards first small car

The last two are fabric bodied Teignmouths,. The front one, a four-light is from 1929, the rear six-light is from 1930.

Thanks Lang.

Thanks for the shots of these rare and desirable exports. I wonder is any of the cars survive? I am always keen to feature Standards that are being found, used and restored in Australia, so please keep sending them to me.
