St. Austell Male Voice
Choir has had its performances injected with more than a little va
va voom thanks to the efforts of a very special new member.
Audiences at the
choir's regular Charlestown performances were amazed when the group
was joined by an 81 year old 1924 Standard Kenilworth Car, which was
more than happy to add her horn to the harmonising. Her proud owner,
Peter Hallam said "We are going to be performing down a the
Pier House in Charlestown for the next three weeks and the car will
be joining in with us on the horn for the song "Mercedes
Benz".
One of only 5
surviving Standard Kenilworths left in the world, the beautiful and
well-loved vehicle is the grandmother of such motoring classics as
the Triumph. The four wheeled addition should mean that the concerts
will be enjoyed by car enthusiasts as well as music fans.
To catch a glimpse of
the marvellous motor while being entertained by the choirs singing,
get down to the Pier House on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm (
