Hi,
I’m “Peanut”. I’ve only had 2 owners from new and covered
45,000 miles. I lived the first half of my life in the valleys of
South Wales
with my first owner. Sadly he died and I was then bought by my
present owner on 3rd December 1983. He was a young chap
who had just passed his test but he (and his Dad) took good care of
me, repaired my steering, gears and brakes and I was used as his
“student” car for a number of years. I was then sadly laid up
and forgotten about while he enjoyed a Triumph Stag for a number of
years until I was woken up and proudly carried my owner and his new
wife on their Wedding Day in 1997. Then
I was again laid up due to high mortgage payments on my new Garage
(with attached house) near Stamford until it was called upon for
another family wedding in 2005 and the International Standard Rally
where I was reunited with lots of my old friends from my birthplace
in Coventry.
Last
year I successfully covered 1100 miles and I am increasingly used
for shows and road runs.
Next
year will be my 50th Birthday (since first registration)
and my owner has promised me a shiny new coat – in my original
colour of course ! Very little work has been needed to keep me
working well but I have had new sills, a replacement gearbox, and
engine rebuild and a recon steering box. I think I'm going to
need some front wheel bearings soon according to the very nice MOT
man who treats me with great respect !
I
look forward to meeting you all.
