Possibly
the best Standard 8 in the World?

Am extravagant claim, and not one
that the owner makes for himself.
He is much too modest, so I will
do it for him.
Ron Harrison rebuilt this
Standard 8, it must have been about 20 years ago. Such is the work
that he continues to do on it that the car, in my view is the most
perfect example still around. Far better in fact than the day it
left Canley.
Anyone wishing to know exactly
what the car should look like should use this as a reference. You
just have to look at these photos by clicking on them to see what
a quality restoration to original specification looks like:
Both of these cars are in perfect
working order but are by no means in concours condition but are
loving adored by the whole family and to gain first place in the
pre 1950s class and first place in the 1950-1959 class was just a
bonus, it just goes to show that with a little effort we can all
do our bit to preserve our own bit of history.

Hi Shaun and Sarah,
Please pass on my
congratulations to Richard, he must be proud of his achievements and
rightly so. I do hope that the rest of the membership will have a
chance to see his good work at the Standard
International Rally. Look forward to seeing the cars and meeting
you there.
Kind regards,
Phil Homer
