the Northern Philippines
Dear Webmaster,
I am sending you some pictures
of the standard car which i am about to pick-up in
Northern Philippines...... but i still have to discover the
year & model of this vehicle.
The engine number of said vehicle is BE83784E. Any information
that you may extend
regarding this vehicle would be highly appreciated.

Hello Amalia,
Welcome!
Congratulations on being my first
correspondent from the Philippines and the first Standard I have
heard of in your country.
The car is a late 1956 or early
1957 Standard Super Ten Phase 2. That makes it exactly 50 years
old! It is 4 cylinder overhead valve with a capacity of
948ccs. 4 speed gearbox and 12 volts. The chrome strips along
the side distinguish it from earlier cars. Unfortunately the
badge on the bonnet is missing, but we will be able to find one
for you if you are interested. ( The Regalia Officer syas
he has one in stock) Also a piece of chrome across the front
panel, below the one that remains, is missing. Otherwise the car
appears to be in very good condition. The wooden dashboard with
extra instruments has been added of course. The front
sidelights, rear stop and indicator lights have been changed but
are similar to the originals.
I hope that the car is running
well and gives you lots of pleasure. I'm sure there are not many
more in the Philippines.
If there is any advice you need, I
will try to assist. I have a 1956 version myself.
Regards,
Phil Homer
let me expresss my heartfelt
gratitude for your kindness and the invaluable information
you have imparted to me with regards to the Standard Super
Ten phase 2. I
am now on my way to the northern Philippines to negotiate
with the seller of this
vehicle. From the bottom of my heart I thank you very much.
