 Flying Saloon Hits a Bollard

What is this Car?

This photograph appeared in the Daily Telegraph of Saturday 7th Jan in an article about bollard design.

Clearly the bollards outside Buckingham Palace must have been much more substantial in those days, probably made of cast iron and designed to inflict maximum damage - just look how the spring steel bumper has folded up neatly in half! Its a good thing the driver only hit the smaller bollard, just think of the extent of the damage if he had hit the much larger bollard, or light, to the left of the photo.

I was asked which model of Standard this was and initially found it a challenge. See how well you can do? Would you like to consider the picture and decide if it is;

a) a Standard Flying 8, 4 door saloon

b) a Standard Flying 9, or

c) a Standard Flying 10 - and importantly -

what is the reason for your choice?
