The
Standard 12 resting in it's barn with an Austin friend
News comes
to me of a very brave restoration which is about to be
undertaken in North Yorkshire. I don't know how long this
1938 Flying 12 Drophead Coupe has laid in this barn. It
certainly wasn't in good condition when it went in and it's
even worse now!
John
Matson, who owns a similar car, has bought this one and says
it is his intention to restore it! John, you are positively
certifiable, my advice is don't open the door to any people
in white coats carrying straightjackets.
For a
closer look at this "hero's job", as I call this
sort of thing just click on any of the thumbnails to see an

Apparently,
the car was originally painted black! |

Everything
in the right place, if only a tad rusty |
