Postwar Standard 8 Drophead Coupe Restored

News and photos of another
Postwar 8 Drophead Coupe has reached me. Again the colour chosen for the restoration is
White. The owner tells his own story:
Hi
Phil,
I bought the car for my father some
10 or so years ago as a project for us both, I am an engineer and my father was a
mechanic, the Standard 8 was my fathers first car and he always had a great love for them,
it took me 2 years to find the right car, and of all places I found it on the isle of
Arran just of the west coast of Scotland, as the crow fly's about 50 miles from where I
was living at the time, the car was finally completed in 1998, {which I have a full
photographic history of}, my father used the car on weekends and holidays which he got
great pleasure from and was very proud of her, sadly my father died in 1999 and I now own
the car and I too am getting a lot of pleasure from it, I hope you find this ok and
the photos are ok.
Best Regards, Dave Cameron.
Yes Dave, they are fine. We hope that you
will join us in our Centenary Celebrations and bring the car with you for us all to
admire.
