Richards
bodied Standard Flying 12 Saloon
Rod
Drummond has sent me these photographs of Errol Huett's
1937/38 Flying 12 Saloon in Waihi, New Zealand. The front
and rear shots were taken in 1978 or 9 and the one of the
car in the garage is taken this year, so it is still in the
same ownership. Alongside the car in the garage you can see
a white/fawn Flying 12, this is Errol's parts car. Not shown
here is a third Flying 12 in maroon, this one has done
only 38,000 miles from new. Perhaps if Errol sees this
feature, he will send me a good photo of it - sorry
Rod, yours is half covered with a tarpaulin!
The
lack of Sunroof in this model implies it is an Adelaide,
Australian built body by TJ Richards. These appear to have
been built from knocked down kits but with some local
content - can anyone tell us which parts were locally
supplied?
