Standard Flying 10 Utility in Australia

Standard Flying 10 Utility ( Pick-up) in Australia

Gerald Attrill has two rare, if not unique, Standards. This is a feature on the first:

He gives the details as follows:

1940 Standard 10c Ute

Engine # bc6800e
Chassis #bc6797
First owner   Richard Claffey  ---- Belmont
Second        Mr Randall      ------ Kalamunda
Third          David  Clark -------     ?
Fourth         Phil   Salter  --------   Midland
Fifth          Gerald Attrill ---------  Padbury.

It was only licenced to the year  1965. It took 30 months to restore. I will take it in for Licensing soon.

Gerald believes this is a factory product and part of a range of pickups and vans of 8Hp, 10Hp and 12Hp, for which he has a brochure. He is arranging for the brochure to be scanned, so i will publish it later. If anyone knows the whereabouts of another of these Flying Standard Commercials, I would be pleased to hear of it.

Gerald's other car is a 18/36 6-V from 1927 - more news and pictures of that later
