8 Saloon in Madeira

On a recent holiday
to Madeira I discovered to my surprise that the classic car scene
is quite big there. In a sleepy rental shop in the capital,
Funchal, I came across three cars one of which was a left hand
drive Standard. I am enclosing a picture of the car which may be
of interest to you.
I had a beer in an
underground car park that had been converted (by the hotel owner)
into a Classic Car bar surrounded by no less than 10 cars ranging
from a 1955 XK 120 Jag to a 1964356C Porsche. There are many
collectors on the island and one chap owned over 35 cars all in
good condition which can be credited to the climate.
