Postwar
Standard 12 DHC is restored

This
Standard 12DHC was originally owned by Mr Evan Gerrard from
Upton-Heath, Chester. It was registered on 15th May 1947 and used
by him until June 1963. It was then taken off the road. It then
stayed in its resting place until 1992 when a friend of mine
rescued it. He began the restoration, and after three years
decided to sell it due to work commitments. I then bought the car
as a basket case and started the restoration which took nine
years. I would like to thank club officials and club members for
their help with technical information and advice regarding the
restoration. Without this advice, the restoration would have taken
much longer. If anyone is restoring a Standard 12DHC and needs
advice, please feel free to contact me.

Many thanks George,
here is an example of my request for more members to send me in
the result of their hard work. This page was published in
just 8 hours or receipt of George's email!. Judging by the
condition of the car originally this was a "Heros's job"
There is lots of room for photos of progress during the nine year
restoration, so if you would like to share those with us, George,
they would be more than welcome.
In the meantime, if
you would like to click on any of the photos below, you can see a
larger version.
