Bo Legelius has sent me this interesting photo of a Prewar Flying 8 8 DHC which originally appeared in the Autocar of June 30th 1939. Many thanks to Autocar for allowing me to reproduce it here.

As Bo points out, the car is enhanced by the addition of twin spotlights, trumpet horns, a chromed grille and a badge bar complete with the prewar Standard Car Owners Club badge and flanked by RAC and AA badges.

We have no registration, but I wonder if this car survives today? That distinctive set of accessories on the front should make it easy to identify
