Feature - First Standard built aircraft on the Site:

The Club's archives have recently
acquired this print of a Mosquito. The location of the shot is
unknown, but the cameraman seems to be hiding in a camouflaged
hanger! I have not seen this shot published before.
Whilst I can not say for certain
that this is a Standard built plane, it did arrive with a batch of
other Standard factory photos so the likelihood is that it is a
Standard.
Standard built 1066 Mosquitos
between 1943 and 1945. They took their maiden flights from Ansty
Airfield near Coventry. This one is clearly equipped as a fighter,
judging by the cannon poking out of its nose.
If anyone has photos of Standard
built Mosquitos, I will add them to this site and return them to
you.
