Standard
10s in India

Hiding behind the
washing line, and gradually being subsumed in the desert, is this
salvable Standard 10
Hello Phil,
Its about time I corresponded with you again, 'just saw an article in
your site by my friend & fellow standard enthusiast Karl Bhote and
that got some positive jealousy out of me so thought of contributing
some recent pics. of Indian standards taken by myself as well as other
enthusiasts.
APY 2682, above is a very original and basically tidy one-family
owned car in Hyderabad. Unfortunately the present owner, not being
able to spare enough time or inclination for maintaining the car left
it sitting in the open where it has been rotting away for the last
six-seven years! The owner did call me up once with the thought of
selling the car. However, when I found him free to contact again, he
said he's changed his mind and doesn't want to do anything with it at
present.....maybe should just keep my fingers crossed!
AP13 9013, the black Super 10, was recently
purchased by a friend Mr. Aman from an Army officer. The car is
originally from Madras (now chennai), later brought to Hyderabad,
hence the present re-registration. Mr. Aman is going to restore it.
'hopefully more detailed pics. of this car later as I get to see it.

Thanks Shyam,
Good to hear from you.
These two are definite candidates for the Rust in
Peace Section, though if you come back to me when either or both are
restored, I will be pleased to feature the cars again. I hope you can
give the owners some encouragement to get them back on the road!
The accompanying cars that you sent
me, which are in much better condition, will be featured elsewhere on
the site.
Look forward to seeing news of
progress on your own Pennant.
Kind regards,
Phil
I am aware that there are other cars
and information that could be added to this site to make it more comprehensive, so if you
have material and photographs, please let me know. Please send me, Phil Homer, a
