The Ambulance
before it's restoration
The Rougham Ploughs
to Propellors show on October 4th 2009 saw over 100 aircraft fly
in to a near perfect flying day at the show. At the same time
almost 100 tractors, horses, steam engines and other types of
ploughs were showing their skills in the hard packed dry
conditions below. What a contrast to 2008 when the site was
waterlogged. With flying model aircraft, sideshows, 1940's themed
music and dancing it was a full day of nostalgia.
Steve King with his
1937 Flying 9 and my own Vanguard 2 were the sole Standards on the
SMC Club stand. After a parade of the arena it was good to have my
car singled out as the Best 1950's Classic Car from about 100 on
show. So Vanguards are in the spotlight in what Phil has called
Vanguard month on the SMC Website.
The other photo
below shows Pete Foster (Vignale) and Reg Johnson (Phase 3)
following my Phase 2 in the arena at the earlier Rougham Air
Show in August.
