Standard Vanguard 1A Restoration in France - Part 2

Not quite complete, but ready for its first run

Part 1 covered the car before the restoration and when it was stripped down. Our story moves on in Part 2 to the reconditioning of all the major components, painting and reassembly

As usual, you can click on any of the thumbprints to see enlargements:

Body ready for top coats

the bare chassis and a collection of re-conditioned parts

Rolling Chassis frame

Engine ready for re-installation

the body about to be re-united with the frame

Speedo marked to 150 (kph!)

Interior finished to an equally high standard

I am sure you will agree that Michel has carried out an extensive and high quality restoration - for which he deserves our congratulations.

In order to show us his car, Michel set off from Lyon to be at the Golden Centenery Rally at Cirencester. Unfortunately , he suffered a broken Waterpump shortly before reaching the Channel coast and had to return home. However, as he tells me, he is now "in training" for the next International Rally at Wyboston Lakes. in 2010. Please come along in your Vanguard or any other Standard to greet him and congratulate him yourself.
