Malcolm Gow's Vanguard Collection

An appropriate number for the Vanguard Utility

Hello Phil

Attached are photos of my 2 Vanguards, the Ute is a 1963 though probably sold in 1964 and the Phase 1 is V1562 on it's 60th.birthday tour.

I have had the Phase 1 since 1998 and it's chassis number is V1562 which probably makes it the oldest still running.

In 2008, the Phase1, was resprayed grey instead of the slutty metallic red. This was for the 60th. anniversary tour in NSW and Queensland.

The Phase 1 is stored away until we build our new home with room for 6 cars. When we move and all the cars are repatriated - the Phase 1 will go to more club outings.

We have another tour planned - The 2010 Tour in May - I'll post photos. I'm taking the Ute on this trip.

Cheers,

Malcolm Gow

Thanks Malcolm,

Super Photos and two very pretty cars.

The Vanguard is an early "long door" model with no separate sidelights. I would hazard a guess that V1562 is the earliest Commission Number that we know, unless you dear reader, know better?

Phil
