 Feature on a Standard Sportsman

This very tidy Sportsman belongs to  Richard Whittington who  lives in Rearsby, Leicestershire. The Sportsman was a variant on the Phase 3 Vanguard, the principal change being the fitment of the twin-carb TR4 engine and a different grille incorporating the Triumph "World" emblem. It is thought that the car would originally be badged as a Triumph Renown, but the idea was dropped in favour of the name "Sportsman" Richard 's car was a feature on this year's International Triumph Restoration Show

Richard also owns a Vignale Vanguard in running order which is for sale to a good home and a Pennant along with some other non-Standard classics. The Sportsman was bought from the  purchaser at the Gaydon auction last year has been given it a bit of a refurbishment and an MOT.

Next Richard plans to give the car a clean up under the bonnet as the part of its continuing rolling restoration.
