I'm a new member from overseas in the USA, I've already gotten some help
from the club (thanks, Ian!) and I'm very enthusiastic about our Vanguard
Sportsman. I had it at the South Central British Car Gathering a
couple of weeks ago, and while it finished 2nd in it's class in the auto
show, the most fun were the driving events. My daughter and I won the
2nd Annual Cheri Palmer Memorial Rallye in the car against 14 other teams,
especially nice since the rallye was named for my late wife, who loved the
cars very much. We also decided to autocross the car (perhaps known as
an "auto test" in the UK?), which is one car at a time around
pylons in a parking lot, as fast as you can, but relatively low speed.
Anyway, we finished 4th in class C (the Spitfire that is also in the video
finished 2nd) but the important thing was that we were having fun with the
car...and she seemed to enjoy it as well!
