Chiltern Rally and Roadrun - Sunday September 24th

Meet from 12.30pm at the "Blacksmith's Arms", Handy Cross. This is in Old Marlow Lane just off junction 4 of the M40, near High Wycombe. This is  a "Harvester" pub with a varied menu to suit all tastes.

At 2.15 we will set off on an easy and non-strenuous roadrun of 16 miles for which a printed route guide will be provided. The route takes in some of the pretty villages, country houses and ancient wooded areas in the Thames Valley, including  a couple of bridges over the River Thames itself.  The route is suitable for all our cars, whatever their age.

Our destination is the Bekonscott Model Village and Railway, where we will arrive around 3.30pm, giving 2 hours to look round. This is the world's oldest model village, established in 1929. Importantly for Standard Motor Club members, there is also a café servng tea and cakes. There is a small charge for entry to the model village but the rest of the rally is free.

Please call us on 01727 868405 so that we are aware of numbers. We look forward to welcoming members new and old on this our annual excursion.
