"Bet
he's glad he's got Bendix Brakes!"

"Let
us try, mutually, to dispel the oft told fairy story that Bendix
Brakes are fairly useless travelling ahead and utterly useless
travelling astern. They did work in 1936 or thereabouts. They can
work now."
So begins this booklet, written a
number of years ago by the late Ted Broadhurst. Ted goes on to
explain over the next twenty illustrated pages exactly what to do
to get your brakes to work perfectly, and as importantly, what not
to do.
Ted was a professional engineer
and vastly experienced with the cars, running a 1937 Standard
Flying 12 as his everyday transport
The booklet has now been
reprinted by the club and is now available as a booklet or in
CD-ROM format.
I can thoroughly recommend this
publication as an infallible means of getting your car to stop -
and in a straight line - and even in reverse! If you never thought
this was possible before, just give it a try.
Either version, printed or CD-ROM
is available from the Regalia Officer
for £4.95 inclusive of postage and packing.
I am aware that there are other cars
and information that could be added to this site to make it more comprehensive, so if you
have material and photographs, please let me know. Please send me, Phil Homer, a
