Report on the
Best of British Festival, May 2006
General view of the
Club's stand at Gaydon
The "Best of British Show" is
organised by the Magazine of the same name to celebrate the good things
about Britain.
So your club is an ideal attendee at this
show - as every last one of our cars was made in good old Coventry. We turned up in
force with over 20 different models, from a 1924 Kenilworth to an early
60's Atlas. Quite the widest selection of cars on display on the day.
There were lots of other things to see and do as well, including the
celebration of 50 years of the Routemaster
Bus and 100 years of the AA
Bonhams also held an auction of Classic Cars - the Sportsman
sold for £1100 plus buyers premium and tax.
To crown this regal do and in recognition
of the sheer variety of our cars on display, the club was rightly awarded Club
Stand of the Show
And we had a a super Picnic, that's very
British too!
