Prestatyn Classic
Car Show, 29th May 2006
Approximately 150 cars
attended the 2006 Prestatyn Classic Car Show on Bank Holiday Monday and
although the day had a very wet start, it brightened up after lunch and
some glorious sunshine followed.
The show is held in the
centre of the seaside town but a free bus in the form of a 1939 Leyland
Tiger takes passengers to the sea front every thirty minutes. All makes,
models and ages of cars were present including two Standards and a
number of Triumphs.
The organisers present
a full range of "Best in Class" prizes sponsored by the Town
Council and this year the prize for the "Best Pre War Car" was
awarded to a 1930 Standard Big Nine fabric Saloon owned by Wirral Group
member Bryn Heeley.
This show gets better
and better each year and is well worth a visit if you are looking for a
pleasant day out. Every entrant at the show receives two complimentary
lunch passes . . . so, there is such a thing as a free meal ticket!!
An outstanding 1936 Standard Nine that
was also at the show
