on the Stamford Car Show, 2006
Hi Phil,
Here's a
few words and pictures from the Stamford Car Show ...
The sun
shone on gleaming paintwork and chrome as more than 315 cars lined up on
Stamford Meadows on Sunday 27th August for a show of classic motoring.
Cars from across an entire century were on parade with
everything from Aston Martin to almost Z??? ... Standard were there.
The Standard Motor Club was represented by two 1950s Standard 10s
shown in the picture. This show is now in it's 3rd year, is organised by
the Stamford Round Table and is growing from strength to strength,
partly due to the location at the heart of historic Stamford and partly
due to the wide range of cars on show. Something for everyone,
young or not so young - even a Spitfire and Dakota flypast !

It
would be great to see more Standards there next year, perhaps grouped
together and with a club banner. We'll publish the dates when they are
announced.

I guess that we can call
this the first outing by the new East
Mid-Anglia Group of the Standard Motor Club. Lets have details of next
year's event as soon as you have them, so that we can publicise it and get
a few more Standards along.
