Car wins another prize

Colin Fry & friend Rita
with their prize-winning 1934 10
As usual this years National Trust
event at Killerton was attended by members of the Devon and Cornwall
section of the Club.
Our Club stand was right in front of
the entrance for the visiting public and we were fortunate enough to
have room for our gazebo which acted as a welcoming stop for club
members and those interested in the cars.
Many club members visited us, some
with and some without their vehicles and Chris was kept quite busy
making endless cups of tea (or so he said!!).
It was a lovely day with lots of chat
and we were fortunate to have a lovely display of seven Standard cars
and a lovely Triumph Renown owned by Roy and June Ward, Standard
owners, who moved to the South West a couple of years ago and joined
us for this years event.

It was a very sociable day with lots
of interest in the cars. One of our members, Colin Fry also won Second
prize for the most popular cars on display, voted for by members of
the public. This was no mean feat as there were over 150 cars on
display, but Colin managed it thanks to his period dress and
memorabilia. You can see him collecting his award on the attached
picture.
All in all a very enjoyable day, made
even more special by the fact that the weather stayed good, despite
flash flooding only 5 miles away!!
