MSTG Group Annual Show at the  Manchester   Museum  of Science & Industry

For club members and the visiting public, it was all aboard for a ride on the replica of Robert Stephenson's 1830 Planet locomotive. We lined up 23 cars in the adjacent railway sidings reserved for us, and had far more cars than we ever expected that day.  Interestingly, apart from various locomotives and aeroplanes on display, the museum houses some Crossley Motors who manufactured 19,000 high quality cars in  Manchester  between 1904 and 1938.  For example they produced 1050 splendid and graceful Crossley Regis models between 1935 and 1937, with engines made by Coventry Climax (was that a forklift truck?) Our star of the show, and winner of the best Standard - Triumph, was the immaculately turned out Triumph Vitesse brought along by Graham Lomas.
