Brian Shakespeare - International Playboy!

Yes, it's Brian Shakespeare, International man of mystery, complete with a glass of champagne and a host of beautiful "Bond" girls!

No, your eyes are not deceiving you! That is our Vanguard Supremo photogrphed 26 years ago at the Classic Car Show in Manchester's Belle Vue Exhibition Halls. Long before the current "upstart" Manchester Group was formed, your club was able to put on stands at this now defunct show. And as you can see, the attractions on the stand were not limited to boring old Standard cars.

The cars on the stand on that day in 1984 were a local Standard 10 and Brian's Red Phase2 Vanguard Pickup. Not suprisingly, your club won an award at the show, you can see the presentation in one of the photos below. Also shown in the Black and White shot are younger versions of the people that manned the stand along with the "Dolly" Birds". That sounds delightfully politically incorrect in 2010, doesn't it?

So come on Manchester Group, lets see you match that for awards and glamour on the same stand!
