AERO/AUTO JUMBLE FLY &
DRIVE IN - POPHAM
AIRFIELD - BANK
HOLIDAY MONDAY May 3rd
Having decided to support this event Members of the New Forest Group watched the weather reports as the weekend neared. Darrell with his Flying 8 tourer battled on in the cold on the day before to get his car road worthy. Sadly at 8am on the day the car decided it was too cold so Darrell & Oliver transferred to a modern Vauxhall Astra.
In the meantime Dave Salter in his 1934 Standard 10 DHC made his own way to the show. To be greeted by hundreds of other classics despite the cold gloomy morning. Having parked up he was joined by Darrell & Oliver. It was then time to look round for other Standards. Four others were found, Standard 8, Standard 8 Standard post war 14 and a Vanguard 1A
Looking round the auto jumble chatting to other car owners by 2 pm everybody was very cold. Dave having been met by Val offered Oliver the chance to go part way home in his Standard. Wrapped up very well the three took off with Darrell bringing up the rear.
