Centenary Celebrations

The Standard Motor Club is marking the Centenary of the Standard Motor Company with a series of events in Coventry. Anyone with an interest in Standard or Triumph cars is invited. Please come to as many of these events as you can make. You can click on most events to get more details.

 Noon onwards Museum of British Road Transport, Coventry "Meet the employees". Any former employees of Standard Triumph are invited to a gathering of colleagues. The museum, together with the Standard Motor Club, will be making a display of Standard and Triumph Cars throughout the ages. Formal welcome at 2-00pm by the Curator of the Museum and Peter Lockley, Chairman of the Standard Motor Club. Admission is Free.and refreshments are available
7.30pm Royal Court Hotel, Keresley Celebratory Dinner with specially invited guests. Limited avaiuilability, first come, first served - Booking obligatory* Optional overnight accommodation is available at reduced rate, book directly with the hotel on (024) 7633 4171. Mention the event to obtain the discount.
Sun 25th May 2003 10.00am Much Park St. Coventry City Centre Unveiling of commemorative plaque on the site of first Standard Factory.
10.15am Start from Much Park St Centenary Parade of 100 Standard-Triumph Cars from Coventry to HMC, Gaydon. Please book*
11.15am Arrive Gaydon Heritage Motoring Centre Gathering of up to 2000 Standard and Triumph cars to mark the 100 years history of the company. Public are welcome at normal admission prices.
4.00pm HMC,Gaydon Wave off the participants at the start of a Round Britain Relay for Standard Cars
