The Best of Standard Triumph

Historic Standard & Triumph films digitally remastered for DVD including previously unreleased footage.

We begin our journey with an ambitious early sound film from the 1930s giving a fascinating insight into the manufacture of Standard cars at the Canley factory. By the 1950s the solid values of the 'Standard' name had joined together with the racier 'Triumph' marque. Enjoy an action packed review of its career in international motor sport from 1953 to 1968; from the exploits of the sporty Triumph TR series and the fiery Spitfire to the achievements of the more mainstream Standard Eight and Triumph Herald saloons. Marvel at rare footage of the TR2's record breaking run at over 124 mph on the Jabbeke Highway in June 1953, as well as highlights of the many company entries in the Alpine, Monte Carlo and Tulip Rallies, the Tour de France, and of course the Le Mans 24 hour race.

Presenting Standard Triumph provides a snapshot of the 1960s at Canley with the building of the new factory to produce the important Triumph Herarld.

Bringing us into the 1970s, the launch film for the Triumph Toledo provides a 'behind the scenes' view of a slightly later era and also introduces us to the story of other cars like the Stag and the TR6.
