Darrell Cunningham Reports on the New Forest Groups Drive It Day

DRIVE IT DAY April 21st 2013

Despite the threat of rain over 60 cars entered the Drive it Day Charity drive run by The Standard Motor Club New Forest Group in aid of local charity Naomi House.

There was no charge to enter but a donation bucket was on hand and £150 was raised.

Marshals for the day were Darrell Cunningham in his 1939 Standard Flying 8 tourer, Alan Tibot in his 1939 Standard Flying 8 Drop Head Coupe and Dave Salter in his 1934 Standard 10 Tickford bodied Drop Head Coupe. (See photo)

Thanks also to Josephine and Val who handled the bookings.

After a 30 mile drive through the beautiful New Forest seeing many animals the cars returned to the Star Inn at East Tytherley where they enjoyed an excellent Sunday Roast.
