Buyers Guide – Standard 8,10, Pennant and Companion

A Buyers Guide for the Standard 8/10/ Pennant and Companion is long overdue, so I am pleased to be able to publish this page. Mechanically the information will apply equally to the Van and Pickup derivatives as well.

I must acknowledge Ian Seabrook, the Author of this feature for his permission to publish - and also "Triumph World" for supplying their artwork. Apart from our own "Standard Car Review", "Triumph World" is the only other full colour magazine that features the Standard marque. Triumph World is very supportive of the Standard Motor Club and you  should look at the interesting features they publish every edition. The magazine is available 6 times a year from Town Centre branches of W,H.Smiths or online or on subscription from www.triumph-world.co.uk

Always read this guide before looking at a potential purchase. If you prefer, you can download the document in PDF format by clicking here. Print it and take it with you.

This page is not to be reproduced elsewhere as that would contravene Copyright notices.

Please note that this buyers guide only highlights certain facts and is not exhaustive. If you intend to buy a Standard car, whether as a running vehicle or a restoration project, always ensure that it is inspected by a qualified person before driving it on the road.
