Mystery Vanguard..............

Now this is strange.....

John Huckle has recently acquired this Phase II Vanguard which he now has running and has an MoT. It has been added to his growing Vanguard collection. Strangely however, this car came with no documentation, was previously unknown to the DVLA and it had never previously been MoTd. So John would like to know where is has been in the last 60 years or so?

The car is painted in a sort of camouflage brown and has its commission number stencilled on the front wings. That implies a military past, but I have never seen a Phase II in military service. The implication is that the car has been used on private land, such as a military base, or maybe it has been in a museum?

Someone out there must know some of the history of this mystery Vanguard. If you do, John would dearly love to know it. Please contact the Webmaster in the first instance at the email address below.

If you would like to send me some photos of your Standard to feature here, please send them to the email address below. Please add as many words as you can, anything about the history of your car or it's restoration will be just fine and of interest to our readers.
