Starting with the original Standard prototype of 1903, this book covers the scores of Standard models built until the brand was discontinued in 1963 (Britain) and 1987 (India). It also covers the Ferguson tractor involvement, millitary aero-engine manufacture, military aircraft manufacturer (including Beaufighter and Mosquito fighter-bombers), Rolls-Royce Avon turbo-jet military engine manufacture, and Triumph cars.

About the Author

Graham Robson is a world authority on Triumph cars, with which Standard was linked for many years, He lived in or close to Coventry for many years, and was well-versed in Standard history long before he began researching this book. No other author knows as much about the company and its financial, geographical, and technical heritage, and no other author has met, interviewed and got to know so many of the important personnel who were involved in Standard for its final thirty or forty years.

Graham has written more than 150 books, including several definitive titles on Triumph and Standard-Triumph subjects.
